Mikey Lewis Podcast:
2:00 - Where things stand in the West Coast Conference's final week of the regular season
"Big, big week to say the least in the West Coast Conference... This is what it's all about when it comes to college basketball... It's honestly incredible that Herb (Sendek) has been able to keep this thing going at the level that it's been going with the pieces that kind of turn over every single year." - Rob Dauster
6:50 - Mikey Lewis joins the show
8:35 - Saint Mary's defense this season
"We've been pretty good on defense in my humble opinion. We get a lot of the clips of like just us being able to clean up easy stuff. Then as of recently, I feel like it got, it's been getting a lot better. I think the second half of Washington State showed like just how good we can be defensively when we're all firing on all cylinders, everybody doing their job." - Mikey Lewis
9:40 - The rise of Joshua Dent
"We knew Josh was like that since last year. He was killing us in practice every day. So for us it was never a question if Josh was going to be good enough to step in and fill that role or not, and he's done a great job doing it." - Mikey Lewis
13:30 - What it's like to play in University Credit Union Pavilion
"The number one thing that I always say about like UCU when it's packed out, it may be like a small thing, I don't know, but it is super hot in there. Like, you, you're sweating from the moment like warm-up starts. It's real small, it's real like on top of you and when the student section gets going and all the fans are into it, like it gets loud in there. So it's definitely a different environment feel than like the bigger gyms where it could still be a lot of people in there, but it doesn't have that like right on top of you feel like UCU does." - Mikey Lewis
16:40 - Why Mikey Lewis chose Saint Mary's
"They have just so many different countless stories of guys from the time Coach Bennett got here with EJ (Rowland) all the way up for the last 25 years with like Augustus (Marciulionis), you know, they have a really good track record to say the least of guards playing well in college. So it was one of those things where I was like, I feel comfortable with that." - Mikey Lewis
21:25 - What makes Santa Clara tough to beat
"They shoot it pretty well. They play at a fast pace... Respect to them. They're a really good team." - Mikey Lewis
22:40 - Mikey Lewis' love of movies
Gary Parrish Podcast:
4:50 - Santa Clara Tournament Hopes
“They have the profile that is good enough to be able to put them in the tournament. (Field of 68) had them as an 11th seed before they lost at Saint Mary’s, and I don’t think that you should ever drop after losing at a top 25 Kenpom team.” – Rob Dauster
8:10 – Three-bid West Coast Conference
“So can the (West Coast Conference) get three bids? Yes, but I think the most likely way to do it would be Gonzaga, get out of the way, Santa Clara go win this and beat Saint Mary’s on your way to doing it and then suddenly give the auto (bid) to Santa Clara, an at-large to Saint Mary’s, at large to the Zags. But Santa Clara is absolutely an at-large play. I just think it gets nerve-wracking if you take a loss before the title game.” – Gary Parrish
12:00 – Gonzaga battles Saint Mary’s in the regular season finale
“If you look at what (Gonzaga has) done in (the West Coast Conference) since 1998, the Zags have won all but 4 (West Coast Conference) regular season championships, and the only team that has won besides them since the year 2000 is Saint Mary’s. So it has always come down for a long time to these two schools and so it’s fitting that here we are again.” – Gary Parrish
