Haley Hails As Rawlings Baseball Player of the Week

Scavone wins conference pitcher of the week

SAN BRUNO, Calif. – Belting five home runs for Gonzaga last week, Maddox Haley won Rawlings West Coast Conference Baseball Player of the Week. After taking down the Toreros, Pepperdine's Tommy Scavone won Rawlings West Coast Conference Pitcher of the Week. Strong performances at the plate and on the mound, led to co-freshman of the week winners as Jayden Garrison from San Francisco and Will Labonte from Portland claimed Rawlings West Coast Conference Freshmen of the Week. 

RAWLINGS WEST COAST CONFERENCE BASEBALL PLAYER OF THE WEEK – MADDOX HALEY, JR., INF – GONZAGA
Maddox Haley posted a .737 batting average and a 1.684 slugging percentage. He boasted an OPS of 2.434 across the week. He slugged five home runs last week, with two multi-home run games. He scored 10 runs with nine RBI. Haley also added a stolen base and three doubles. He tied a program record for hits in a game with five (including a run-rule walk-off home run) against Washington State. He collected eight extra base hits and 32 total bases on the week. This is the second time in the last three weeks that Gonzaga won conference player of the week.

RAWLINGS WEST COAST CONFERENCE BASEBALL PITCHER OF THE WEEK – TOMMY SCAVONE, GR. – PEPPERDINE
Tommy Scavone went six innings last Saturday against San Diego, marking the third consecutive start he's gone at least six innings. Against the Toreros, Scavone only allowed two hits, one walk and no runs. He also struck out eight Toreros. This is the second conference weekly award for the Waves this season.

RAWLINGS WEST COAST CONFERENCE BASEBALL CO-FRESHMAN OF THE WEEK – JAYDEN GARRISON, FR., OF – SAN FRANCISCO
Jayden Garrison posted a .300 batting average with three hits in 10 at-bats, a double, a home run, three walks and two RBI during San Francisco's three-game sweep of Seattle U. In the Dons' series clinching 6-5 extra-inning victory over the Redhawks last Saturday, Garrison went 2-for-3, including a walk-off home run in the bottom of the 10th inning to secure the win. He also added two RBI, two walks and two runs. The Dons now own two conference weekly awards this season. 

RAWLINGS WEST COAST CONFERENCE BASEBALL CO-FRESHMAN OF THE WEEK – WILL LABONTE, FR., RHP – PORTLAND
Will Labonte threw six innings of one-run ball with seven hits allowed, five strikeouts and no walks, good for his second win of the season. It also marked the fifth time in seven appearances he's allowed one run or less. Labonte's six innings pitched were also a career high. The Pilots have now claimed conference freshman of the week honors for the second straight week.
