No. 3 Santa Clara Tops No. 6 Saint Mary's 4-1

The Broncos will face Pepperdine on Friday

FAIRFIELD, Calif. - No. 3 seed Santa Clara defeated No. 6 seed Saint Mary's, 4-1, in the quarterfinals of the West Coast Conference Men's Tennis Tournament at the Green Valley Country Club in Fairfield, Calif.

The Broncos took care of business in doubles, picking up a 6-4 win on the top court and 6-3 on the second court. 

The Gaels earned their only win of the day on the No. 1 court as Thibaud Maxant was the first to finish, topping Santa Clara's Alex Watanabe Eriksson, 6-1, 6-4. 

John Kim garnered the first singles victory for SCU, a 6-2, 6-3, straight-set victory. Luca Lemaitre put Santa Clara in striking distance for the win, a 6-3, 7-6 win on the No. 2 court.

Lukas Maskow sent the Broncos into the semifinals on court No. 4, a 7-6, 6-2 win. 

With the win, the Broncos will play No. 2 seed Pepperdine Friday at noon in the semifinals.
